The forthcoming consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya is set to be a grand affair with a guest list that reads like a who’s who of India’s elite. The temple, a towering structure of 161 feet crafted from pink sandstone, is preparing to welcome a select few hundred from a broader list of approximately 8,000 invitees. This exclusive circle includes a mix of the nation’s most influential figures from various spheres, including politics, business, cinema, sports, and the arts.
Among the distinguished guests, industrial magnate Mukesh Ambani will be in attendance with his family, which includes his mother Kokilaben, wife Neeta, sons Akash and Anant, daughter-in-law Shloka, and Radhika Merchant, who is soon to join the family. The presence of such high-profile individuals underscores the event’s significance in the cultural and spiritual landscape of the country.
The film industry’s representation is notably star-studded, with Amitabh Bachchan, a luminary of Bollywood, expected to arrive via a private chartered plane. Joining him will be a cadre of celebrated actors such as Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Allu Arjun, Mohanlal, Anupam Kher, and Chiranjeevi. The creative arts are further represented by the likes of sarod virtuoso Amjad Ali Khan, the esteemed lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir alongside his wife, the acclaimed writer and lyricist Prasoon Joshi, and directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
