Running back into the locker room, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy flung a towel at the supporters remaining in the stands at Levi’s Stadium. The fan in the stands reached out with his left hand while standing on the railing.

An ecstatic fan attempting to grab a towel tossed by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy misread the pass — and is likely injured after falling over a railing.
Purdy flung his towel to the rows of fans along the tunnel as he walked to the locker room at Levi’s Stadium after the victory on Sunday. The fan grabbed for the towel, but instead fell to the ground. According to a video of the event, he seemed to be unhurt after vaulting over numerous individuals.
After nearly crashing on at least two others, the fan swiftly stood up.
While the footage does not show him grabbing the towel, the 49ers did capture the No. 2 seed in the playoffs with their win over the Arizona Cardinals.
The Bay Area club won the NFC West division, concluding the regular season with a 13-4 record and a 10-game winning streak.

Purdy threw three touchdown passes in the 38-13 victory for the San Francisco fans. Purdy completed two touchdown throws to George Kittle and one to Christian McCaffrey.
Purdy has now scored multiple touchdowns in six consecutive games.
In the NFC playoff bracket, San Francisco will be the No. 2 seed. With a 13-4 record, the 49ers won the NFC West division.
